FEMA releases Hurricane Ike Impact Report

FEMA today released the Hurricane Ike Impact Report, documenting the effects of Ike on the social, economic, built, and natural environments. While the report is described as a “living document” that is likely to be continually updated, it aims to provide an overview that will help everybody involved in the recovery process to work efficiently.

As described in the forward:

“This Hurricane Ike Impact Report  is a first-ever attempt to comprehensively compile the damage assessment and impact information of federal, state and local governments for use in the long-term recovery process.  As with most firsts, suggestions for how to improve the joint assessment process will certainly arise, and they will always be welcome.”

The 64-page report is downloadable in PDF form from FEMA’s website.
